Writeup

"Fiona Cox is a transatlantic story-telling folk singer reminiscent of Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell and Sheryl Crow who has plied her musical talent in bars across the Sunset Strip....

"In 'Moving Day' Fiona skilfully evokes the anger and determination of a woman scorned, linking a particularly bad break up with the difficulties of moving house. The contrast between the confrontational, acrimonious words - "Today I'm going to extract myself from you" - and her beautiful vocal delivery is incredibly potent. While her recriminations are spat out relentlessly, the sense of regret and care that lingers means the song transcends the bitterness on the surface to take on an overwhelmingly tender quality."

- Jack Howson, former President of WERL Records.
